Sr Technical Tax Manager
Salary up to 160K + bonus

We are partnering with a fast-growing, technology-backed tax organization to hire a Senior Technical Tax Manager. This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and motivated by the technical challenges of tax.
You will serve as a core technical expert for the broader tax team, helping ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across complex tax engagements.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical resource for the tax team—answering complex questions and guiding decision-making
- Lead quality review of intricate returns to ensure accuracy and optimal positioning
- Conduct extensive research on evolving tax regulations and translate findings into internal guidance
- Evaluate new IRS code changes and interpret their applicability to client structures
- Analyze unique or complex business and entity structures, including cross-border scenarios
- Support development of models, workflows, and best practices to enhance tax strategy and compliance
- Train, mentor, and support tax staff and managers on technical topics Assist in assessing and improving tax software tools
Desired Skills and Experience
- CPA, EA, or Tax Attorney with 10+ years of deep technical tax experience
- Prior experience managing or mentoring a small team
- Expert knowledge of federal tax law (pass-throughs, corporations, multi-entity structures)
- Meticulous, detail-driven, and comfortable owning technical accuracy across the organization
- Strong researcher, able to interpret complex code and apply it clearly
