ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Proven ability to effectively lead in an operational environment.
 Manages the day to day operations of assigned areas through the direct supervision of employees
o Prioritizes work, oversees progress and takes corrective action as required
o Interfaces with other departments as required to ensure that production stays on schedule and to resolve work order discrepancies
o Plans personnel requirements in advance to ensure appropriate personnel are available when required
 Plans and coordinates supply and material requirements in advance to prevent unnecessary interruptions of work
 Supports the People Resources function by participating in the hiring, discipline and termination processes
o Develops training programs for employees in manufacturing processes
o Develops and effectively utilizes lead personnel
o Conducts performance appraisals and makes recommendations regarding salary increases and employee development
 Oversees quality control and ensures adherence to company and customer specifications and standards
 Monitors and reviews work methods of assigned area to ensure optimum efficiency
o Makes changes and improvements as required
 Implements new systems and technology in a manner which results in increased productivity and minimal startup time
o Ensures that employees receive appropriate training
o Maintains communication with and coordinates with other affected departments
 May provide work direction and support to Inventory and Quality Control areas
 Provides input into capital purchase decisions, procedural changes, plant layout and equipment placement and other related issues which impact the production process
 Assists in design of equipment and production aids as required
 Ensures that line personnel follow safety and environmental procedures.
o Continuously monitors line for safety and environmental issues and notify appropriate personnel of problems.
 Continually monitors line for productivity and quality improvements.
o Operates lines adhering to established quality procedures.
o Monitors production processes to identify productivity and quality improvements.
 Approximately 75% of time will be on the factory floor

Desired Skills and Experience:

 Five years of demonstrated leadership experience in continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting required
 5-10 years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing setting required
