Our client is building out a collaborative project team to launch an entirely new product line into an estimated $100M+ market that the Applications and Design Engineer will play a major part in building. This is an opportunity to be a part of a major growth period as we take our products to market.

The Applications and Design Engineer will collaborate with Ops teams, Engineering teams, marketing, and customer service to integrate the product development process and customer requirements. In addition, you’ll be responsible for developing design criteria for customers based on data collection methods. 

In this role you will be responsible for supporting and leading product development phases, collaborating with new and existing customers to determine requirements, and interfacing with the applications and design engineering team to udnerstand internal resources, tools, work practices and systems.


  • Develop an understanding of technical customer information to meet product performance expectations and drive product adoption
  • Translate voice of the customer data into actionable product requirements by defining requirements to allow rapid prototype iterations.
  • Become the SME in your product line, enabling you to interact with and support customer inquiries and product installations
  • Create and execute test procedures and plans and provide post-launch support to the engineering and project team.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field and 5+ years of engineering experience
  • Ability to work in a team setting and build cross-functional relationships and achieving deadlines
  • Proficiency in Solidworks or other 3D CAD software
  • Experience in early stage product development preferred but not required.
  • Experience defining material selection and characterization is preferred but not required.
  • Experience and drive to collaborate with customers, delivering a high quality product
  • Understanding of FEA, Structural Analysis, and the change order process is preferred (can be from school)
  • Ability to work on-site 5x days per week
