Title: Assistant Controller
Compensation: Salary up to 145K (depending on experience) + bonus potential
Location: Bloomington, MN
Hybrid schedule: in office 1-3 days a week
SkyWater is partnering with a growing international company to hire an Assistant Controller. This key role will oversee the general ledger, financial statement preparation, internal controls, and lead process improvement projects. The position manages two direct reports.
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity, have worked within the manufacturing industry and have a CPA certification.

Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger and ensure timely month/year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow).
- Maintain and implement internal controls for accurate financial reporting.
- Manage and mentor two direct reports, fostering team growth and performance.
- Lead process improvement projects to enhance accounting operations.
- Support external audits by preparing required documents and reports.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and regulatory reporting.
- Contribute to financial strategy development aligned with company goals.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 8+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years in a leadership role
- CPA certification is preferred
- Experience within the manufacturing industry, including familiarity with cost accounting, inventory management, and production-related financial reporting.
- Strong skills in process improvement and the ability to identify and implement efficiencies in accounting processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial data to senior management
