This Assistant Controller will serve as the CFO’s right hand, helping lead accounting operations, mentor staff, and play a key role in implementing a new ERP system. Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR and fixed assets
  • Lead month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting preparation
  • Financial planning, process improvement, and internal controls
  • Support ERP system implementation
  • Supervise and mentor a small accounting team (4 direct reports)
  • Collaborate with payroll and HR teams on benefits and compliance
  • Assist with audits, insurance renewals, and external reporting requirements
  • Streamline accounting processes and strengthen operational efficiency

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of total experience and at least 2+ years supervising a team
  • Background in construction, engineering, or other project-based industries
  • Experience with WIP, job costing, and % complete is a huge plus
  • ERP implementation or system transition experience beneficial
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented leader with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in an evolving environment while maintaining accountability
  • Strong communication skills and an approachable leadership style
