Controller
I’m working with the Owner of a small business to help her identify her next Controller. My client is around $15M in revenue and has a small office with around 15 total employees. The business is growing quickly and is at a point in their growth where they’ve identified a need for a strong Controller to head up the accounting and finance function. This is a great role for someone who is looking to be involved in the day-to-day operations of a small business and have their hands in everything from general accounting to strategic finance work.
Responsibilities
- The Controller manages Company's financial integrity by applying best practice principles and procedures and contributes to the general management while working closely with the owner.
- Review and record bank transactions daily
- Complete month end transactions and reconciliations
- Preparation of the monthly financials and review of budget to actuals
- Quarterly Filings: MN Sales & Use Tax, Department of Commerce Report
- Prepare and submit annual Filings: Form 1099 filing, OSHA reporting
- Manage petty cash
- Royalties
- Annual Audit
- Annual Forecasting/budgeting
Desired Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of direct experience in accounting or finance required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
- Experience with use of financial management software required
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills required
- Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook applications
- Capable of performing job tasks with minimal supervision
