Custom Design Manager
SkyWater Search Partners has been retained on a Custom Design Manager position by the GM of a 40 year old, well-known, $180M, 500 employee privately-held MN-based manufacturer of industry-leading products for one of their fastest growing divisions. Our client has been growing at a 15-20% clip every year for the past 6 years, and are looking for this manager to lead and develop their 9 member design team for their custom business unit. This individual will work closely with the sales team and with customers to manage the pre-sales process through the completion of the project. Reporting to the GM, this role has a ton of visibility internally and will be a part of the leadership team for their custom manufacturing division. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the design team
- Partner with the sales team and customer for custom projects
- Work closely with the senior leadership team on strategic initiatives
- Evaluate projects and select the best fit for their capabilities
- Ability to operate software systems
Desired Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- 2+ years of customer facing, sales experience
- Knowledge of design and engineering
- Landscape Architecture, Engineering degree, or related degree is preferred
- Ability to be both tactical and strategic
