Design Engineering Manager
We’re exciting to be partnering with a NEW manufacturing client just outside of the Madison area to help them find their next Design Engineering Manager. This person will play a big role on the NPD team while leading 5 engineers. The Design Engineering Manager will play a crucial role for the company as they continue their growth path in 2023. It’s an exciting time for the company and this is a great opportunity to put your footprint on a booming organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage New Product Development and set strategic objectives for each project
- Supervise a team of Product Development Engineers and set objectives for each design/project
- Designing new products and updating existing products
- Work with production and support staff to improve quality of each product.
- Oversee new product launches and work with internal departments on new/existing products
- Supervise the testing of each design ensuring that it's manufacturable.
- Working on a cross-functional team with sales and customers on product specification.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of leading a Product Development team or 10+ years of Product Development Engineering experience and looking to get into management.
- Experience with CAD Modeling designing components
- Good communication skills and strong attention to detail
