SkyWater is partnering with an established, but growing, global private investment firm to add a Director-Capital Formation to their team. This person will play a key role in Investor Relations, Fund Closings and the due diligence process working directly with the Head of Client Managment. We are looking for an experience Investor Relations person that can continue to develop best practices across client service and fundraising initiatives. 

This role has the potential to manage at least one other individual. Investment Sales experience is a strong bonus, but this position is not a sales role. 

Experience in specialty finance, consumer finance, and real assets is desired, but not required.

  • Develop and maintain in-depth understanding of firm's investment strategy, philosophy and approach with the goal of articulating the firm’s current and prospective investments and performance.
  • Work and provide management oversight of team by working with team members to develop best practices across client service and fundraising initiatives. This includes working to develop a deep understanding and knowledge of current and prospective investors, utilizing current in-house CRM as well as subscription databases and other available resources. Create summary update and other necessary portfolio information in written form.
  • Manage, or direct the implementation and management of, client relationship management (CRM) system including customization and reporting functionality, including entering and maintaining investor contacts, meeting notes and other activities.
  • Manage the process of developing responses and follow up diligence requests from existing investors and prospects throughout the fundraising process.
  • Participate periodically in current and potential investor meetings by engaging in dialogue where appropriate, recording meeting notes and working with appropriate internal teams on any follow-up requests.
  • Contribute to the production and execution of a best-in-class annual investor meeting and other investor-related events
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams throughout various investor initiatives, including fund closings.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Comprehensive consumer finance and SME finance experience across different products in financial industry, including but not limit to student loans, credit cards, installment loans / other unsecured, auto finance, mortgage, and SME credit
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, communications or related field
  • 7+ years’ experience in supporting diligence efforts and/or fundraising for private fund strategies.
  • Experience in asset-based investing and/or private credit asset classes strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated extremely effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple high-priority projects, and transition smoothly as projects stop or start
  • Highly self-motivated and driven to succeed with an insatiable intellectual curiosity
  • Able to build rapport between organizations, people and cultures
  • Team player, adaptable; willing to perform tasks necessary to achieve common goals
