My client has retained me to find them a Director of Operations overseeing three manufacturing sites.  My client is a PE owned, based in St. Cloud and a market leader in their industry.  The company is forecasting revenue growth of 20% in 2020.  In addition to organic growth, the company has been acquisitive in the past, which continues to be part of their strategic plan for growth. 

Job Description:

This position will report to the President of the company. This position is responsible for all plant manufacturing operations, quality and procurement.   This role will be directly responsible for 3 director reports and a total staff of 45. 

 

Reporting to the President, the operations leader will be responsible for management of plants, staff, scheduling, quality, safety, material sourcing and procurement and plant asset acquisition and disposal for the Company.  This position will lead relationships with employees and plant managers, outside consultants and vendors.  This position will ensure plant assets are being used effectively, provide operations input for business planning and budgeting and lead the company’s operations forward.

Candidate Requirements:           

The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering or similar.

 

This person will need to be a strong leader who has a proven track record in driving results.  The successful candidate will possess the ability to apply analytical, strategic and tactical thinking to the planning process and have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional organization, yielding desired results.  The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal skills, commanding presence, demonstrated strong general business skills, including operations cost management and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the organization. 

 

This person must have 15+ years of experience in direct plant manufacturing environment.  In addition, this person must have 10+ years of experience as a primary decision maker in manufacturing operations.  The candidate must have a history with proven results in leadership, improving inventory turns and continuous improvement.  The ideal candidate will also have lean manufacturing and mergers and acquisition experience.
