Director of Print Production

The Production Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process, with a team of 4 direct reports and 100 indirect. This includes managing production schedules, quality control, and ensuring that all products are delivered on time and within budget. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage production schedules for all projects, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the production process, including printing, binding, finishing, and packaging.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure that all products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Work with the sales team to develop accurate project estimates and proposals.
  • Monitor production costs and work to minimize expenses while maintaining high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Hire and train production staff, ensuring that all team members have the skills and resources needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, seeking out new technologies and production techniques that can enhance the company’s offerings and competitiveness in the marketplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing to ensure the company receives the best value for its purchases.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on production metrics, including productivity, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in a production management role, preferably within the printing or design industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Familiarity with production software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, and production equipment.
  • Experience working with vendors and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and standards.
