Director of Print Production
The Production Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process, with a team of 4 direct reports and 100 indirect. This includes managing production schedules, quality control, and ensuring that all products are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage production schedules for all projects, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the production process, including printing, binding, finishing, and packaging.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure that all products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Work with the sales team to develop accurate project estimates and proposals.
- Monitor production costs and work to minimize expenses while maintaining high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Hire and train production staff, ensuring that all team members have the skills and resources needed to perform their jobs effectively.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, seeking out new technologies and production techniques that can enhance the company’s offerings and competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
- Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing to ensure the company receives the best value for its purchases.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on production metrics, including productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in a production management role, preferably within the printing or design industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Familiarity with production software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, and production equipment.
- Experience working with vendors and suppliers.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and standards.
