Financial Systems Analyst
SkyWater is partnering with a $200M privately held transportation company in the Twin Cities that is looking to hire a Financial Systems Analyst. This is a newly created position where you will have the opportunity to support the finance department and work cross-functionally with the sales and operations team. You’ll have high visibility in this position and report directly to the CFO. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset and understand systems to help improve processes and efficiencies. Responsibilities
- Systems and Reporting
- Implement, maintain and update financial systems/processes
- Develop and maintain financial reports for the finance department and operations
- Create value through automation and process improvement
- Integrate data from various sources/systems of truth and provide data/reporting solutions to senior management Special Projects
- Drive projects/initiatives within finance and across the business
- Review, document and improve internal/external data flow between our financial software and other platforms while ensuring data integrity
- Eliminate manual process/waste through automation and system enhancements Finance/Accounting
- Ensure financial checks and balances for the various components of our financial software
- Expand reporting capabilities within finance and across operations – fish for yourself capabilities
- Leverage the relationship with our external financial software consultants
- Eliminate manual daily, weekly or monthly non-value added financial processes
- Technically support the strategic vision of the finance department
- Assist with expanding financial acumen across the organization through exposure to and visualization of financial data
Desired Skills and Experience
- Financial accounting or analysis (3 years minimum)
- Knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and GAAP
- Understanding of General Ledger Functions and financial reporting
- Collaborative with a desire to attack a problem/issue and create flexible financial and operational solutions
- Advanced computer application knowledge (Microsoft Visio and Excel)
- Education: BS or BA degree in Accounting and/or Finance
