Head of Finance and Accounting
SkyWater is looking to add a Controller (Head of Finance & Accounting) to one of our favorite clients! Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, timely execution, and update of the company’s financial records including the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement. As Controller, you will also help guide business and financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures that evaluate the impact of company activities on working capital and financial metrics. This position will be part of a business operations team and will help guide and train team members in best practices as it relates to inventory control and cash cycle management. Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of the company’s accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger in support of company’s accounting functions
- Supervise cash management functions: daily deposit activity, weekly A/R and A/P activities, and monitoring cash flow
- Direct and coordinate annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
- Establish and maintains standards for all inventory items, to include overseeing inventory cycle counts and establishing and recording cost accounting
- Manage the preparation of financial reports, historical and future forecasts in accordance with US GAAP
- Develop and updates short and long-term financial goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- Assist external accounting firm in managing annual financial and tax audits
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory reporting requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
- Degree in Business, Finance and/or Accounting
- A minimum of 8 years of accounting experience
- Willingness to shape, lead and expand the finance function’s role in a growing company
- Systems savvy with previous NetSuite experience (or similar ERP system preferred)
- Experience or exposure to corporate treasury practices (preferred)
- Exposure to business process improvement projects & practices (preferred)
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost accounting principles including GAAP
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Demonstrates professional judgment and high standards for quality and attention to detail Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
- Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, and rolling budgets
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet expected goals with stated timeframes
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to train other company personnel in policies and procedures that ensure accurate inventory management and cost controls
- Ability to work in a hands-on environment and collaborate across functional groups
- Demonstrates strong decision making and problem-solving skills
