Lead IT Systems Administrator
Our client is a well-capitalized investment company headquartered in Minnetonka. They have a collaborative, high-trust culture and are continuing to scale their internal operations. This hire will be their first dedicated in-house IT professional, taking ownership of day-to-day technology while partnering with an outstanding managed services provider (MSP).
The IT Systems Administrator will serve as the on-site point person for all technology functions — from resolving end-user issues to coordinating larger initiatives with the MSP.
This is a highly visible, hands-on position for a technically strong, personable IT generalist who enjoys autonomy and daily interaction with leadership.
The role offers a chance to own IT operations across Microsoft 365, Teams, Azure, and compliance environments.
Responsibilities
Serve as the internal IT contact for all users and departments. Partner with the MSP for escalations, projects, and infrastructure management. Support Microsoft 365, Teams, and Azure environments (all-PC shop). Coordinate with compliance teams on SOX and audit readiness documentation. Troubleshoot networking, conference room, and connectivity issues. Maintain documentation and reports on system performance and incidents. Support small-scale implementations and technology rollouts.
Desired Skills and Experience
5+ years of experience in IT systems administration or infrastructure support. Prior experience in a small or mid-size company environment. Strong familiarity with Microsoft 365, Teams, and Azure. Exposure to SOX or IT compliance processes preferred. Excellent communication skills — able to support and build trust with executives. Calm, reliable, and personable; strong follow-through and ownership mindset.
