Senior Accountant
SkyWater Search Partners is excited to be partnering with a company in the education services space looking for a Senior Accountant. In this 100% REMOTE Senior Accountant role, you will be the accounting guidance leader of the group. This organization offers superior benefits and time off (every employee gets company paid time off the week of Christmas Eve through New Years), and 4 weeks of PTO front loaded on day one of employment. In addition, they have great work life balance (40-hour work weeks). My client is looking for a team player, a process driven mindset and a strong technical accountant with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for assigned monthly close tasks including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and other analysis
- Research and interpret accounting standards to ensure our compliance with US GAAP on technical accounting issues, which could include deferred commissions, capitalized product development, debt modifications, purchase accounting, or other technical accounting matters that arise (ASC 606 Revenue Recognition is required)
- Research and analyze variances and unusual transactions as identified
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures for annual reporting requirements
- Review monthly account reconciliations prepared by others on the team to ensure accuracy
- Recommend, establish, and maintain controls to ensure accuracy and provide safeguards
Desired Skills and Experience
4+ years of progressive accounting experience Mix of public accounting and industry experience CPA
