Sr. Buyer/Planner
We are seeking a Sr. Buyer/Planner to join our client’s industrial manufacturing firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing procurement activities, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules. The Sr. Buyer/Planner will work closely with various departments including production, engineering, quality control, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and optimize inventory levels
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a materials requirements plan to ensure that inventory levels are optimized to meet production schedules
- Plan and execute procurement activities including issuing purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and resolving supplier issues
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and manage supplier performance
- Review and analyze supplier contracts, negotiate terms and conditions, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality control, and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues that may arise
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure that materials are properly received, inspected, and stored
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure that the company is receiving competitive pricing and quality materials
- Continuously improve procurement processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Prepare reports and analyze data to provide insights into procurement activities and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and all relevant laws and regulations
Desired Skills and Experience
- Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, planning, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and procedures, including sourcing, contracting, negotiation, and supplier management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with suppliers
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of ERP and MRP systems
