Sr. Director of HR, Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations
I have been retained by one of my Twin Cities based manufacturing clients to help them find a Sr. Director of Human Resources in support of their Global Manufacturing & Supply Chain organizations. With a rich 40-year history, my client is an industry leading supplier of high-quality tools and equipment selling products through direct channels, online and through retail locations.
Reporting to the SVP of HR, this is a newly created position to support continued growth of the business. This person will lead a team of 10 people and will have global HR oversight for two manufacturing facilities and three distribution centers. This role is a critical partner for global Manufacturing and Supply Chain organizations. This person will be a member of the divisional leadership council and will direct the manufacturing and supply chain HR resources in a manner that supports functional leadership in achieving the strategic and operational goals of the business. This person will have HR oversight supporting a team of 725 people whom are located in the United States and China.
Desired Skills and Experience
The client wants to find someone who presently resides in the Twin Cities. The successful hire will be a charismatic leader who possesses a strong collaborative style with evidence of able to bring out the best in people as well as effectively soliciting creative solutions. The hire will need to have at least 7 years of progressive experience across all aspects of HR, of which 3+ years has been working in an HR leadership capacity in a global manufacturing, distribution/supply chain and product/development capacity. It is critical that the person have global HR leadership experience working in a multi-site operation that employs a large hourly workforce. Furthermore, it would be helpful if the person had some experience working in a plant where they have supported managers and supervisors of hourly employees so they understand the dynamics that go with it. They want this person to have worked ideally at a multi-site operation which employs greater than 500 people so they understand the complexities associated with supporting an operation of this scale with multiple layers of management. In addition, this person will need to think like a traditional HR Business Partner so they understand how to walk the fine line between being a good partner for the business leaders while also being an advocate for the employees.
