Tax Manager

We’re partnering with a fast-growing, tech-enabled tax organization to hire a Tax Manager who will serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of closely held businesses, investors, and high-net-worth clients.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys client relationships as much as technical tax work and wants meaningful visibility with product, engineering, and internal technical tax experts.
This position is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys guiding clients, mentoring a team, and helping shape a modern, technology-forward tax practice.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the client-facing leader for your book of business
- Lead and coach 2–4 tax analysts
- Manage deliverables across seasonality—ensure returns, reviews, and client follow-ups are completed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate closely with Technology, Product, and Engineering, contributing to improvements in workflow, client experience, and internal tools.
- Participate in strategic/advisory discussions with your client base
- Handle a diverse book of clients, typically 100–150 returns/year over time (mix of individuals, business entities, and multi-entity structures).
Desired Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of experience working with S-Corporations, Partnerships, and Individual returns
- Experience managing or mentoring tax staff
- Strong client communication skills—comfortable leading calls and building trust
- Ability to break down complex scenarios and guide analysts through decision paths
- Someone who enjoys client interaction, not just behind-the-scenes prep
- CPA certification
