Title: Trust Officer
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid)

SkyWater Search Partners has been engaged to seek a Trust Officer for a financial services organization that has a significant footprint in the Upper Midwest and Rocky Mountains. This company prides on itself on its depth of experience and personalized service to clients. In addition, the organization is recognized for its thorough understanding of the legal complexities associated with trust management and operating with integrity, creativity, and stability. This role will require exceptional client relationship management through personalized service and collaborating with lawyers, investment managers, and other trusted advisors. 


  • Administer book of business as assigned
  • Present recommendations for resolving complex issues and exercises independent judgment while developing expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements of trust administration
  • Create and implement solutions to accommodate changing circumstances
  • Coordinate new business development with other team members and centers of influence
  • Maintain broad knowledge of industry trends and regulatory environment, leverage data and insights, and ensure continued adherence to regulations
  • Anticipates imminent issues and events affecting account administration and ensures all reasonable measures are taken to mitigate operational risk
  • Create and implement solutions to accommodate changing circumstances
  • Communicate and model the vision and values of First Trust Company to create a sense of team; collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to achieve goals and resolve issues 
  • Engage in community involvement and advocating for the trust industry; educating clients, community members, and business associates on the trust industry and benefits of trusts


  • Bachelor’s degree; JD and/or CPA highly preferred
  • Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in carrying out fiduciary administration and the ability to administer a portfolio of trusts with extraordinary customer service; must know and understand federal and state regulations associated with fiduciary administration
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits excellent collaboration skills when working with client’s trusted advisors (attorneys, CPAs, investment advisors, etc.) to ensure the proper administration of the trust and needs of the beneficiaries are being met
  • Ability to effectively consult, influence, negotiate, and present to internal and external stakeholders at all levels; including the ability to explain complex information to individuals with varying degrees of understanding
