My retained client is a privately held award winning Minnesota based company which has been in business for almost 25 years.  They have successfully grown the business to over $100 million in revenue and just under 200 employees.  Their award winning products are sold through a variety of sales channels including: ecommerce, retail, wholesale, and commercial.  All products are designed at their headquarter location while manufacturing takes place both domestically and internationally (Italy, Sweden, China, India, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia). They operates a 265,000 square-foot warehouse locally where distribution and fulfillment are centrally managed for all channels and customers. They enjoy a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 28%. The environment is collaborative, entrepreneurial, dynamic and customer-focused.

The Vice President, Global Fulfillment and Logistics is a strategic leadership role whose primary responsibility is to transform order fulfillment from a logistical necessity to a remarkable, compelling part of the customer experience. Reporting to the COO, this position will develop efficient, cost-effective and customer-focused strategies to get their award-winning products into the hands of its customers. In addition, the Vice President, Global Fulfillment and Logistics will oversee their distribution facility and will support the company’s growth by increasing warehouse capacity as needed, when needed. A collaborative member of the leadership team, this role is expected to be hands-on and nimble in order to effectively meet the needs of the evolving business.

To be considered, you will need to have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of fulfillment and/or logistics experience.  A deep understanding of logistical efficiency is required, including knowledge of how to incorporate scalable, best-in-class final mile service into a multi-channel operation. Must have high customer service standards and experience successfully applying those to business decisions, while balancing the need for operational efficiency. Experience with vendor negotiations, including ocean freight, air freight, small packages, pallet delivery and white-glove home delivery, is critical.   

The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, a self-starter and has a strong sense of initiative and ownership. This person must be highly analytical and have the ability to do hands-on analysis of large amounts of complex data and use this information to formulate business strategy, anticipate risks and opportunities and drive operational excellence. The proven ability to successfully lead enterprise-wide change through effective collaboration and communication is essential
