SkyWater Search is leading the search for a VP of Human Resources near Naperville, Illinois.  Our client is a publicly traded manufacturer with a strong domestic and global footprint and 4,000 employees worldwide. As the SVP of HR, you’ll be a key player on the leadership team and drive organizational excellence in the areas of talent acquisition, talent development and planning, and total rewards.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional business acumen, a global viewpoint, a broad HR background and experience leading the HR function previously within the manufacturing industry. *Preference will be given to candidates in the Chicago market, but relocation is available for the right candidate. Must be willing to live in Chicago and work onsite full-time in a suburb near Naperville.*

Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer human resource planning models to identify competencies, knowledge, and talent gaps. Lead talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributor and management positions.
  • Develop staffing strategies, plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the company. Collaborate with other parts of the organization to improve effectiveness in assessing and selecting candidates.
  • Enhance, implement, and enforce human resources policies and practices of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operations and effectiveness of the company.
  • Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance.
  • Collaborate with BOD Compensation and Talent Committee on organization’s compensation and talent strategy including executive pay, incentive programs, and succession planning.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Degree in human resources or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • 15+ years of HR leadership experience in a global company.
  • Experience in a mid-size manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
  • The ability to navigate between strategic vision and hands-on tactical execution.
  • Excellent business communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of labor laws, regulations, and compliance.
  • Ability to influence, coach, and build strong relationships and foster effective communication with both employees and the leadership team.
  • Lead change management initiatives to facilitate smooth transitions, ensuring employee engagement and organizational readiness.
