Process Engineer II

The Process Engineer II will identify and lead projects geared towards improving manufacturing processes including but not limited to: scrap percentages, yield improvements, machine down time, work instructions and documentation, and corrective action planning.

We’re looking for a change agent for this role, someone who enjoys and excels in identifying projects to lead as well as being hands-on implementing those projects.

You’ll work closely with the engineering team, quality manager, plant manager, and maintenance team to implement process improvements on a daily basis. 

Responsibilities

  •  Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality, process, and safety metrics using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reduce variability and scrap rates.
  •  Identify and lead high-impact quality cost reduction projects, leveraging data analysis and cross-functional collaboration to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  •  Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes for cost, quality, and capability, including process standardization, equipment upgrades, and procedural improvements.
  •  Implement engineering and procedural changes using structured Management of Change protocols to improve plant performance and ensure process safety.
  •  Support technical documentation and process control systems, including development of P&IDs and updates to AutoCAD electrical, process, and plant drawings.
  •  Develop and implement training programs, SOPs, and compliance strategies in alignment with ISO, EPA, OSHA, and plant safety standards.

Desired Skills and Experience

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  •  4+ years of process, manufacturing, or industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing plant
  •  Proven knowledge and experience with lean six sigma, continuous improvement, CAPAs, and 5S projects
  •  Knowledge of mechanical equipment
  •  Experience with fluids transfers, mixing/batching, and/or plastics are a plus but not required.
