Sediment Remediation Engineer
The Sediment Remediation Engineer will design and implement strategies in assessing, planning, and executing remediation projects in aquatic and coastal environments. They will bring expertise in sediment remediation and upland remediation to conduct and support crucial multi-year environmental projects located throughout the US.
This is a remote position that will require 10%-20% travel for required field operations support.
Responsibilities
- Support projects from start to finish including but not limited to: Predesign Investigation, Basis of Design Reporting, Remedial Design Work Planning, and 30/60/90 final design planning.
- Utilize Civil 3D to prepare design calculations, alternative analyses, specifications, and drawings
- Support projects by performing additional tasks like bank stability calculations, erosion calculations, sediment capping, dredge prism design, and cost estimating of remedial alternatives
- Execute on field work including but not limited to: field testing, logging, and interpretation of field tests, and collecting soil/sediment samples using proper techniques
- Analyzing soild/sediment samples accordingly
- Update stakeholders on regulatory requirements pertinent to project management
- Will be required to travel 10%-20%
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of Environmental, Civil, or Geotechnical engineering experience OR
- Master's Degree and 3+ years of Environmental, Civil, or Geotechnical engineering experience
- PE license OR ability to obtain within the next 12 months
- Engineering experience related to sediment remedial design, dredge prism design, riverbank design, and/or upland remediation
