The Field Service Manager will lead the field service team by providing guidance in equipment and customer service functions, developing the team of service technicians, enhancing customer relations, and managing service and parts KPI’s and improving revenue. 

We are looking for a strong leader; someone who is passionate about career development and career pathing conversations with their team, will roll their sleeves up to develop one on one, and is comfortable holding their team accountable in a remote setting through establishing clear and direct objectives and methods to set up their team for success.

This is a remote position that will require ~50% travel. There will be times that the amount of travel can exceed or fall short of 50% depending on the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of roughly 12 service technicians located throughout the US, establishing clear and objective goals that are measurable and realistic in scope.
  • Oversee technician resource allocation, utilization, and performance, ensuring alignment with budget goals while implementing process improvements and Lean Management principles to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Lead and support employee development through cross-training initiatives, performance reviews, and improvement plans; manage personnel actions to build a high-performing team
  • Ensure safety compliance and training across teams, investigate incidents, and maintain high operational standards in repair, maintenance, and equipment use
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to deliver exceptional support, resolve outstanding issues, and promote value-added offerings such as preventative maintenance, training, and retrofit solutions
  • Serve as a liaison between operations and engineering, driving effective communication for escalations and critical projects, while working to reduce warranty costs and improve service delivery

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering-related discipline and strong background with industrial machinery and equipment
  • 5+ years of direct management experience, preferably in a field service setting but engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, or a related setting is acceptable
  • Demonstratable knowledge of equipment manufacturing processes including electromechanical concepts & theories, designs, and repair & maintenance
  • Proven leadership experience including coaching & development, headcount management, skills development, and accountability
  • Proficient communication skills, including oral, verbal, and digital
  • Proven experience handling customer complaints and resolution planning.
