Engineering Manager
SkyWater is partnering with a client in Minneapolis to find an Engineering Manager for their team! The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a team of 2 direct-reports while leading the engineering function for our client. This person will have a seat on the management team and will report directly to the company President to help achieve strategic initiatives for the organization. Our client is a successful small business that’s on the cusp of some exciting growth due to growing market demand for their products. They’re an ESOP manufacturer that manufactures air filtration equipment for various market segments. Responsibilities
- Manage 2 engineers and distribute projects & responsibilities.
- Work with cross-functional teams and company leadership on strategic initiatives.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts and look for areas for process improvement & cost-savings on the manufacturing floor.
- Lead design projects and work on new product designs as well as redesigning existing product lines.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and industry knowledge.
- Work directly with customers to attain VoC information and utilize feedback to drive product improvements.
- Other projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of engineering experience preferably across multiple areas of engineering (mechanical/design, manufacturing/process, etc.).
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineers (directly or indirectly).
- Strong communication skills (both written & verbal).
- Experience with SolidWorks and sheet metal product design is a plus.
