Engineering Manager
SkyWater is partnering with a growing client in Minneapolis to find an Engineering Manager for their team! The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a small team of 2 direct-reports while overseeing the engineering department. This person will have a seat on the management team and will report directly to company leadership to help achieve strategic initiatives for the organization. Our client is a successful small business that’s on the cusp of some exciting growth due to growing market demand for their products. They’ve been in business for 50 years and manufacture top of the line filtration equipment used across a variety of industries. Responsibilities
- Manage 2 engineers and distribute projects & responsibilities to these reports.
- Work with cross-functional teams and company leadership on strategic initiatives.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts and look for areas for process improvement & cost-savings on the manufacturing floor.
- Lead design projects and work on new product designs as well as redesigning existing products.
- Work directly with customers to attain Voice of the Customer (VoC) information and utilize feedback to drive product improvements.
- Other projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of engineering experience preferably across multiple areas of engineering (mechanical/design, manufacturing/process, etc.).
- 1+ year of experience leading or mentoring team members (training new hires, overseeing interns, etc.).
- Strong communication skills (both written & verbal).
- Experience with SolidWorks and sheet metal product design is desired.
