Medical Science Liaison

SkyWater has partnered with a long-time client looking for a MSL with strong oncology experience. The ideal candidate will have worked with oncology patients in clinical practice as a nurse practitioner, pharmacist, physician, or scientist and be looking to become and MSL or have already started their career in industry. 
 

Responsibilities

  • Training & Clinical Education
  • Lead hands-on training for healthcare providers to ensure proper use of therapies and procedures.
  • Facilitate educational sessions for both internal teams and external audiences, leveraging deep clinical knowledge.
  • Equip cross-functional teams with relevant scientific, technical, and disease-related insights. Medical Engagement & Strategy
  • Develop and maintain strategic, peer-level relationships with specialists across oncology and procedural disciplines.
  • Partner with key opinion leaders to uncover clinical challenges and align on educational opportunities.
  • Share relevant clinical updates and scientific findings, while identifying gaps in current evidence.
  • Drive insight collection across a broad range of stakeholders to guide future initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial teams to align local execution with broader medical objectives.
  • Support expert speakers and manage scientific presence at conferences, including post-event debriefs.
  • Deliver clear, actionable medical insights to internal teams to inform planning and decision-making.
  • Track and report field intelligence, aligning key learnings with leadership priorities. Research & Evidence Generation
  • Discover and advocate for innovative investigator-initiated study concepts that align with strategic priorities.
  • Guide researchers through study design, startup, and ongoing execution, offering medical and operational support.
  • Partner with clinical teams to identify high-performing sites and troubleshoot recruitment or data challenges.
  • Communicate study progress, milestones, and emerging insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Use medical expertise to enhance study quality, patient access, and data integrity across research efforts.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Education & Experience
  • Advanced clinical degree required (PharmD, NP, MSN, DNP, PhD, MD, DO).
  • 2–4 years of post-training clinical oncology experience, ideally in solid tumors.
  • 1–5 years in oncology-focused roles within medical affairs or clinical development. Core Strengths & Capabilities

  • Open to flexible hours and non-standard work schedules when necessary.
  • Works well in collaborative environments; dependable, professional, and approachable.
  • Competent in using standard productivity tools and digital platforms for fieldwork.
  • Comfortable with frequent regional travel; occasional international trips may be required. 40% travel.
  • Must be licensed to drive and able to handle clinical instruments when needed.
