ERP Business System Analyst
Location: Western Suburbs of Chicago, IL
Type: Full-time, direct hire
Work model: Onsite 4 days per week, 1 day remote
SkyWater is partnering with a privately held, family owned manufacturing company that recently completed a major ERP implementation and is now focused on post go-live stabilization and continuous improvement. The ERP program is highly visible and led directly by the CIO and ERP Program Manager, with strong executive support and investment.
This role sits on a small internal ERP team and focuses on application support, troubleshooting, and process improvement across manufacturing, supply chain, and back-office operations.
Responsibilities
Analyze data flows, logic, and process design to identify the root cause of bugs, errors, and unexpected outcomes in the ERP. Partner with external ERP consultants on configuration changes, fixes, and enhancements, ensuring requests are clearly documented and technically sound. Write and execute test cases in a non-production environment, validate fixes, and manage promotion of changes into production after approvals. Participate in ongoing “version 1.1 / 1.2” style improvements as the organization learns new edge cases and process scenarios after go-live. Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and department leads who own day to day training and frontline support, making sure system changes are well communicated and documented.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience as a Business Systems Analyst, ERP Analyst, or similar role in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Ability to trace how data moves through an ERP and where it originates, understand why a report looks the way it does, and work with technical teams to fix logic issues. Experience writing and executing test cases, working in dev vs production environments, and participating in UAT in a structured way. Comfort acting as a liaison between business users and technical consultants, translating business problems into technical requirements and vice versa.
