Accounting Manager

  • Job Tag: #LI-JN1
  • Posted: February 16,2026
  • Salary: $130,000

We’re excited to be partnering with a family-owned holding company as they add an Accounting Manager to their team! This role is remote, but candidates must be local to the Twin Cities.

This position will play a key role within a highly acquisitive platform, supporting multi-entity consolidations, integration of newly acquired businesses, and the build-out of scalable accounting processes.

You’ll partner directly with an incredibly sharp CFO we’ve known and worked with for years. They’re looking for someone who’s comfortable living in the weeds, enjoys solving problems, and has a strong eye for process improvement. This is a hands-on, transactional Accounting Manager role with meaningful exposure and growth as the platform continues to expand.

Responsibilities

  • Own the general ledger and full books for assigned entities.
  • Record, review, and oversee daily sales, invoices, deposits, and receipts across operating companies.
  • Oversee consolidation of five operating entities, including accurate intercompany eliminations and streamlined close processes; maintain and optimize general ledger structure to support scalable, audit-ready financial reporting.
  • Oversee accounts receivable processes, including tracking and analyzing AR aging to ensure timely collections.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, intercompany entries, and adjustments.
  • Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Lead month-end close activities for assigned entities and meet established close timelines.
  • Support inventory and cost-of-goods reconciliations in coordination with operations and corporate accounting.
  • Maintain accurate vendor and customer records and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Support payroll processing, review timecards, and record related payroll entries.
  • Prepare financial reports, schedules, and analyses for management, corporate accounting, auditors, and lenders as needed.
  • Serve as the primary accounting contact for operating company leadership, ensuring financial accuracy, consistency, and clear communication.
  • Assist with accounting process improvements, documentation, and standardization across the organization.
  • Support audits, tax preparation, and special projects as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of the general ledger and month-end close.
  • Demonstrated experience managing full books for multiple entities.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet management.
  • Experience with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold; manufacturing or food-related operations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and intercompany accounting.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Experience working with auditors, tax preparers, and external advisors.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel; experience in multi-entity or family office environments a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet close deadlines.
  • Clear communicator able to work effectively with operations, plant leadership, and corporate teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a growing, hands-on environment where processes are still being built and refined.
