SkyWater is excited to partner with a local company on their search for an Assistant Controller! This company is well-known – you’d be familiar with what they do.
The hiring leader is searching for a driven, energetic individual to own the day-to-day corporate accounting and lead the team through process improvement initiatives. The culture is very collaborative and welcoming, forward-thinking, and entrepreneurial. They operate on a very flexible hybrid model, in office twice per week.

  • Lead and manage all month-end close activities, including timely preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and regulatory reporting, including GAAP and statutory financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Lead the annual audit process and ensure timely completion of audit requests.
  • Manage and develop the accounting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to help team members grow and achieve their goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and other service providers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address accounting-related issues or opportunities to standardize and streamline processes.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and provide insight into financial performance.
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in the finance and accounting function.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with leadership experience. Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Positive attitude with strong work ethic and high level of integrity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
