Buyer / Planner
SkyWater is partnering with an existing client in Minneapolis to find a Buyer/Planner for their team! The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, purchasing materials & components, planning production schedules, and maintaining inventory. Our client is a successful electronics manufacturer that’s been in business for over 70 years in the Twin Cities. We’re looking for someone with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, 2+ years of relevant purchasing/buying or planning experience, and experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain supplier relationships and select new suppliers when needed.
- Execute purchase orders and maintain product inventory levels.
- Plan & schedule material needs to support production and delivery timelines.
- Monitor vendor performance and work with vendors on performance improvements as needed.
- Maintain ERP system with accurate pricing, order status, production times, etc.
- Work with internal teams (engineering, production, etc.) and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a Buyer, Planner, or similar role (s).
- Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment; electronics industry experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities is preferred.
