SkyWater has been retained by great long-term client on an exciting new role; this growing $50M+ technology solutions organization is hiring their next Chief Revenue Officer to help drive their continued growth in 2024 and beyond! 

As a pivotal member of the executive team, the CRO will report to the President, and will be responsible for developing and executing the annual business plan for the revenue operations department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and leading high-performing sales and marketing teams, managing budgets effectively, and driving continuous improvement in sales and marketing productive.

This company has a very strong reputation in the upper Midwest, and is looking for their first CRO to help continue their transformation from a legacy product reseller business into a technical service business, managing their Sales, Digital, Marketing, and Customer Success teams (about 20 people).

Open due to a retirement, this is an exciting transformational role that will help drive the doubling of their revenue in the next 4 years. This is not a complete “build” role; as our client has a strong existing client base of over 200 enterprise and mid-market clients in the Midwest, and a relatively tenured team of employees.

The position offers a strong base salary, annual bonus incentive, and a long-term incentive package, along with a robust benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the organization in achieving annual revenue, margin, and growth objectives. Develop and execute a comprehensive annual business plan for the revenue operations department.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Build, lead, and manage a high-performing sales and marketing team capable of driving business growth. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success.
  • Budget Management: Manage the departmental budget to plan, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently. Drive cost-effective strategies while maintaining high-performance standards.
  • Productivity Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in sales and marketing productivity through process optimization, technology adoption, and skill development.
  • System Adoption: Ensure full adoption and use of organizational systems and processes, including CRM and other relevant tools. Implement strategies to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Sales Plan Management: Develop and manage the sales plan for the organization, aligning it with overall business objectives. Monitor and adjust strategies to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Innovation and Offerings: Provide input to the development of new offerings and capabilities, staying ahead of market trends and customer needs.
  • Partner Relationship Development: Lead sales-related partner relationship development, strategy, and planning to enhance business partnerships and collaborations.
  • Market Reputation Building: Build and maintain a positive reputation in the market for our client through effective branding, messaging, and market positioning.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with clients, employees, and partners, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty to our client.
  • Satisfaction Metrics: Monitor and improve customer, employee, and partner satisfaction metrics to ensure a positive experience with our client.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • A track record of at least 10 years in progressively responsible revenue-focused roles.
  • Experience in leading high-performing sales and marketing teams.
  • Proven success in managing budgets and driving revenue growth.
  • Proven experience as a Chief Revenue Officer or in a senior leadership role with a focus on revenue operations.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving annual revenue and growth objectives.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and budgetary skills.
  • Experience in driving continuous improvement and productivity enhancements.
  • Familiarity with Hubspot, intent-based marketing systems, ConnectWise (or similar CRM platforms), and other relevant systems.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
