Controller
SkyWater is thrilled to be partnering with a local manufacturing company to help them identify a strategic, hands-on Controller to join their growing accounting & finance team.
This role will oversee all accounting and financial operations, and play a key part in financial planning, reporting, and compliance, while also serving as a business partner to senior leadership. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in financial analysis, cost accounting, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team responsible for core accounting operations, ensuring accurate and compliant financial processes.
- Oversee the full month-end close cycle, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Analyze financial data and operating costs to support strategic decision-making and drive performance improvements.
- Prepare and present financial reports on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Implement and maintain scalable internal controls and financial processes to support organizational growth.
- Manage capital expenditure (CAPEX) budgeting and tracking.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax regulations.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- +7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
- 3–5 years in a leadership role overseeing financial operations within a complex, operationally focused environment.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong background in budgeting, cost analysis, and financial planning.
- Demonstrated ability to own full-cycle close and reporting processes.
- Experience building or improving reporting tools, dashboards, and internal processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
