I’m excited to be exclusively working on a Controller search that will really resonate with the operational accounting crowd.
This role is for someone who thrives in the day-to-day of accounting and genuinely enjoys making things run better. Clean closes, solid processes, fewer surprises, and a team that gets stronger over time.
The company is PE-backed and has already completed a Sage Intacct implementation. The focus now is execution, consistency, and operational excellence. The accounting itself is straightforward, but the impact during this phase of transformation is immediate and meaningful.
The role is tied to the south metro, but candidates anywhere in the Twin Cities are fair game. In-office needs are heavier at the beginning and ease up once things are running smoothly, typically landing at one to two days per week, at most.

Responsibilities
- Own month-end close and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and cash management
- Manage multi-entity accounting and intercompany activity
- Lead Excel-based consolidation and reporting tied to adjusted performance metrics
- Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes and documentation
- Mentor and develop accounting team members, helping them grow and succeed
- Other ad hoc projects and initiatives, as needed
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with operational leadership responsibility
- Prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience
- Multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience required (Sage Intacct a plus)
- Hands-on, process-oriented mindset
- Enjoys building structure and improving how teams operate
