Job Title: Vice President / Corporate Controller
Location: Minneapolis, MN (On-site/Hybrid)
Reports to: CFO
Compensation: 215,000 + 35% + Equity

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Vice President / Corporate Controller to join our executive team. This individual will lead all aspects of the accounting and financial reporting functions, playing a critical role in scaling the finance organization and supporting our next phase of growth, including a major transaction event in the near term.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical accounting expertise, a strong background in Private Equity environments, and proven experience navigating companies through capital events such as acquisitions, exits, or recapitalizations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, AP/AR, payroll, and tax compliance.
  • Lead the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements and management reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes to support rapid growth and scalability.
  • Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to prepare for and execute on a significant transaction (sale, recapitalization, or IPO readiness).
  • Manage external audit relationships and ensure successful audit outcomes.
  • Drive ERP optimization and other systems upgrades to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with Private Equity partners and support investor reporting, board presentations, and due diligence activities.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • CPA designation required; public accounting foundation strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, with at least 3+ years in a PE-backed environment.
  • Direct experience supporting a transaction (M&A, sale process, or IPO readiness).
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP compliance and audit management.
  • Experience leading accounting teams in high-growth or dynamic environments.
  • Hands-on and strategic mindset, comfortable operating at both the 30,000-foot and tactical levels.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
