My client is an industry leading industrial manufacturing company that is headquartered in the Twin Cities.  They have retained me to find them a leader for their $30 million Aftermarket Parts business. Their customers are some of the best known manufacturing companies in the United States and their products are viewed as best in class in the industry.  This is a rare opportunity to align with an A+ company.   

Responsibilities

This person will oversee customer-facing departments to include aftermarket sales, parts, and technical publications. Reporting to this person will be an 11-person aftermarket sales team which includes a 4-person outside aftermarket sales team who sell technical upgrades to their customers for conversions or spare part sales, a 4-person parts team who are inside sales reps that take incoming calls from their customers, and a 3-person team in technical publications who are responsible for writing reference materials and manuals. This person will be responsible for setting the strategy for this area of the business and then executing it while leading and unifying these teams to provide an unparalleled, seamless, and customer centric experience. The aftermarket parts area is a highly profitable for the company, and they want to expand the business in this area. The goal is to have this person lead a team that helps a customer understand the value of having spare parts on hand to reduce downtime in the case a machine breaks down. They also want this person to review and identify parts that they should have in their current inventory that might not be there today so if a customer has an urgent need, they have the product on hand and ready to go.

Desired Skills and Experience

The company wants to initially focus on candidates who presently reside in the greater Twin Cities area. To be considered, you will need to be an astute and highly professional business person that has experiencing leading an aftermarket parts business for a manufacturer. The company wants someone with a proven track record in growing this area of the business while being laser focused on profitability. They want someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves, be hands on and get into the weeds while leading their team by example. This person must have outstanding communication skills as there will be regular interaction with their customers, many of which are Fortune 500 companies. They have a strong preference for someone who has experience working for an industrial capital equipment OEM with custom manufacturing being ideal. The job will require about 10% overnight travel to visit customer sites and the remainder of their time will be spent working from the headquarter location leading by example.
