Director of Finance
Location: Plymouth, MN
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 remote)
SkyWater is partnering with a fast growing construction company looking to hire their next Director of Finance. This role will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, providing strategic financial guidance to senior management, and ensuring the company’s fiscal health and compliance with relevant regulations.
he successful candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and construction industry experience.
Responsibilities
1) Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. 2) Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making. 3) Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for senior management, board of directors, and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards. 4) Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, optimizing working capital and liquidity to support ongoing operations and strategic initiatives. 5) Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing effective risk management strategies to safeguard the company's financial assets and interests. 6) Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, reporting requirements, and tax laws. Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations impacting the construction industry. 7) Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities. 8) Collaborative Partnerships: Collaborate with other departments, project managers, and external stakeholders to provide financial expertise and support for various projects and initiatives. 9) Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Director of Finance or in a senior financial management role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. .
