Director of Strategic Sourcing
We are partnering with a local contract manufacturer to find a Director of Strategic Sourcing. This role requires a strong history of developing purchasing strategies and building team and will also focus on vendor management, inventory optimization, and global sourcing best practices. This person will be key in the high growth expectations of the business by enhancing vendor performance and driving internal efficiencies.
Overview:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, including the assessment of supply vs. vendor-managed models, to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Execute a strategic roadmap within the sourcing function, outlining short-term and long-term objectives, initiatives, and KPI’s.
- Oversee materials and inventory management processes, ensuring optimal levels to meet production demands while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive working capital optimization initiatives
- Establish vendor performance metrics and scorecards to measure supplier performance consistently, drive accountability, and identify areas for improvement.
- Leverage global sourcing capabilities to identify and qualify suppliers, mitigate supply chain risks, and capitalize on cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
- Understand customer-directed material requirements and preferences, ensuring alignment with manufacturing capabilities and regulatory compliance.
- Manage the procurement of chemicals and related materials, adhering to safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards while optimizing costs and supplier relationships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related
- 15+ years of experience within supply chain in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of leading and developing direct reports
- Analytical mindset to make data-driven decisions
- Experience partnering with global supplier base
- Preferred experience within a contract manufacturer
