We’re partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturer in the powersports and off-road equipment space to hire a Field Service Engineer who can blend technical expertise with hands-on problem solving. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, and wants direct impact on product quality and customer satisfaction. You’ll serve as a trusted technical resource to internal teams and dealership partners, travel to troubleshoot escalated issues, and help drive continuous improvement across the product line—all while working within a tight-knit, high-visibility service engineering group.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze warranty claims, identify failure trends, and develop recommendations to improve product reliability.
  • Investigate reported mechanical and electrical problems, conduct root-cause analysis, and validate solutions through hands-on testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and technical support teams to resolve recurring issues and implement long-term fixes.
  • Communicate effectively with dealership technicians and service managers to guide troubleshooting and ensure accurate problem understanding.
  • Document findings through clear technical reports, service updates, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Support the development and improvement of diagnostic tools, service procedures, and technical training materials.
  • Travel to customer locations (as needed) to evaluate equipment, assess complex failures, and restore customer confidence.
  • Continuously explore product systems, test components, and experiment with diagnostic methods to deepen technical understanding.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, customer focus, and service excellence when representing the organization in the field.
  • Contribute to internal product improvement discussions by sharing field insights and data-driven analysis.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2–5 years in powersports, automotive, or related mechanical systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude — experience working with engines is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, sometimes on short notice
  • Clear technical communication and report-writing skills
