General Manager
Summary:
Responsible for the profitable operation of a retail store and interior design showroom. This is a multi-faceted business with both a lumber/building materials division and a six-person design showroom focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences—especially managing, tracking, and converting walk-in clients. The showroom is currently undergoing a $100K remodel, with investment in a modern, engaging space to attract more customers and remain competitive in the market. A top priority is enhancing organization and implementing repeatable processes across sales, follow-ups, and in-store interactions to ensure consistent, high-quality service that drives new business and long-term client relationships.
Essential Functions:

Lead and participate in all front desk sales, product storage, and product delivery.

Conduct annual reviews for sales and warehouse staff.

Oversee purchasing of supplies and stock inventory, including pricing and electronic receiving.

Develop and manage store advertising and marketing budgets.

Provide training to employees on product knowledge, housekeeping, and safety procedures.

Assist customers in purchasing and designing interior products.

Support and participate in inventory control.

Maintain and merchandise store layout for efficiency and cleanliness.

Perform other duties as needed or assigned by leadership.
Competencies:

Advanced knowledge of interior design products (floor to ceiling).

Strong computer skills for POS, purchasing systems, Microsoft Office Suite, 20-20 Design, and inventory management.

Ability to evaluate and introduce new products and promotions.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Strong multitasking and coordination abilities across sales and customer needs.
Required Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in business management, or equivalent experience managing within a showroom and/or interior design environment.

Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing a team of 5+ staff.
