The General Manager II is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall performance of a growing technical services operation. Reporting to executive leadership, this position has full accountability for financial results, operational execution, people leadership, and strategic growth of an assigned facility. The role ensures long-term profitability, operational excellence, and high customer satisfaction in a regulated, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Full P&L ownership for a $15–20M+ operation with responsibility for continued growth
  • Lead and execute strategies to meet or exceed annual revenue, profitability, and performance targets
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations, quality, safety, and service delivery
  • Build, develop, and lead a management team through coaching, performance management, and succession planning
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend new complementary or adjacent business opportunities
  • Develop and execute implementation plans for new services or capabilities
  • Champion a customer-focused culture; act as senior escalation point for issue resolution
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-engagement workplace culture
  • Partner with commercial and sales teams to support sustained year-over-year revenue growth
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements
  • Establish and maintain operational policies, procedures, and staffing plans aligned with business objectives
  • Set the standard for ethical leadership, integrity, and professional excellence

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. MBA Preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience with full P&L responsibility
  • Prior experience as a General Manager, Director of Operations, Business Unit Leader, or similar role
  • Background in technical services, engineering services, testing, or contract manufacturing environments
  • Proven ability to drive business growth, operational efficiency, and financial performance
  • Strong people leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work on-site in a technical or laboratory environment; occasional travel required
