Are you a strategic payroll and HRIS leader looking to make an impact in a high-growth, family-first environment? We’re partnering with a well-established specialty contractor in the construction and industrial services space to hire an experienced HRIS & Payroll Manager. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to lead both systems and payroll strategy for a multi-state, union/non-union workforce of 800+ employees.This is a high-impact position with visibility across HR, Finance, and Operations. The company recently implemented Workday (full suite) and is looking for a forward-thinking leader to optimize functionality, manage a tenured team, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all payroll operations for union and non-union populations across multiple states
  • Oversee Workday HRIS maintenance, optimization, and reporting (not heavy configuration)
  • Provide guidance on payroll tax policy, compliance, and vendor partnerships
  • Manage and develop a team of four: Payroll Lead, Payroll Specialists, and HRIS Specialist
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, IT, and Operations leadership

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years in payroll/HRIS with 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong experience with union payroll and multi-state compliance
  • Workday experience preferred (full suite implemented); Vista/Viewpoint a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, optimize systems, and support organizational growth
