SkyWater Search Partners is looking for a Director of Quality and Technical Services for a client of ours near Hastings, MN. 

Company Overview: We are a leading manufacturing facility specializing in the production of beauty care products. Our state-of-the-art facility spans over 200,000 square feet and is equipped with cutting-edge technology to ensure the highest quality standards. Currently operating at 25% capacity, we are poised for significant growth and expansion in the beauty care industry.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Director of Quality and Technical Services to oversee all aspects of quality control, safety compliance, and process optimization within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a background in cosmetics manufacturing, with expertise in scaling up operations, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and optimizing production processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Control:

    • Develop and implement robust quality control systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements.
    • Establish comprehensive quality assurance protocols for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor product quality and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including OSHA requirements.
    • Implement safety training programs for employees and conduct regular safety audits to mitigate risks and hazards.
    • Investigate and address any safety incidents or near misses to prevent reoccurrence.
  3. Process Optimization:

    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and streamline manufacturing processes.
    • Utilize data analysis and performance metrics to identify trends and drive strategic decision-making.
  4. Scaling Up Operations:

    • Develop strategies and action plans to support the scaling up of production operations as the facility reaches higher capacity levels.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess resource requirements and ensure smooth transitions during periods of growth.
  5. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cosmetics manufacturing.
    • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, GMP guidelines, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance and safety management, preferably in the cosmetics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, safety regulations, and process optimization techniques.
  • Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving high standards of quality and safety.
