Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanical Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, particularly in HVAC systems design and implementation. As a key member of the engineering department, you will play a crucial role in the development and execution of HVAC projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and engineer HVAC systems for commercial and industrial projects, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems.
  2. Conduct load calculations, energy analyses, and HVAC system simulations to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
  3. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for HVAC installations.
  4. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate HVAC systems into building designs effectively.
  5. Perform site visits and inspections to assess existing HVAC systems, troubleshoot issues, and propose retrofit or upgrade solutions.
  6. Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for HVAC projects, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and project timelines.
  7. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  8. Stay abreast of industry trends, codes, and regulations related to HVAC engineering, and incorporate best practices into project designs.
  9. Mentor junior engineers and provide training on HVAC engineering principles and practices.
  10. Maintain professional licensure and certifications, including a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, and uphold ethical standards in all engineering activities.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering
  2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC engineering and design
  3. Proficiency in HVAC design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculation tools.
  4. Strong understanding of HVAC principles, equipment selection, and system components.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ASHRAE, International Mechanical Code (IMC), and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose innovative solutions to complex HVAC challenges.
  7. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  8. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
  9. P.E. license in Mechanical Engineering (or the ability to obtain licensure within a specified timeframe) is required.
