The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead a team of 6 responsible for designing, reviewing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes via lean six sigma, continuous improvement, fixture design, and molding design. Projects will range from revised designs to novel concepts.

In addition to leading the team, you will be actively involved with design engineering responsibilities; prototyping and designing fixtures and molds for injection molding and thermoforming operations. 

You and your team will identify new projects and initiatives to spearhead and drive, using lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, minimize scrap, and improve upon operational excellence. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the manufacturing engineering team, fostering professional development and ensuring team effectiveness.
  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, quality, and workplace safety.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support product development, process integration, and seamless production transitions.
  • Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and minimize waste.
  • Oversee the adoption of new equipment, automation, and technologies to enhance production capabilities and reduce costs.
  • Analyze production data to drive improvements, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide technical solutions to complex manufacturing challenges.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is strongly preferred
  • 4+ years of manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement experience and 2+ years of management experience
  • Proficient knowledge of fabrication, machining, assembly, and automation in a manufacturing setting
  • Proven experience designing molds and fixtures in Autocad, Solidworks, or a related software.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is preferred
  • Exposure to thermoforming or injection molding technology and manufacturing is strongly preferred
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus, not required
  • CNC Programming in any software is a plus, not required
  • Tool and Die experience is a plus, not required.
