Position Summary
The Manufacturing Manager will lead a team of focused on optimizing manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting new product introductions. This role is both strategic and hands-on, balancing leadership responsibilities with deep technical engagement in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.
 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing and process professionals to support production and operational goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance quality, throughput, and cost efficiency.
  • Own the process validation lifecycle (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Quality, Operations, and Program Management on new product introductions (NPI), ensuring smooth transition from development to production.
  • Develop and maintain robust manufacturing work instructions, process flow diagrams, and PFMEAs.
  • Evaluate and implement new equipment, tooling, and automation to improve process capability and repeatability.
  • Act as technical liaison between engineering, production, and external customers on manufacturability and process capability.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Background in medical device manufacturing or another highly regulated industry
  • Experience with CNC machining, precision fabrication, or similar processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma tools, and process validation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
