SkyWater is excited to be partnering with a returning manufacturing client located here in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Our client is looking to add a Product Development engineer to their team! This person will be very hands on from concept through manufacturing. This person must have the ability to work cross-functionally and have the passion to work with highly customizable products. They’ve seen some tremendous growth over the past couple years and aren’t seeing any signs of slow down. Great time to be joining this organization!

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Sales/Marketing and internal engineering departments to define product requirements and specifications as well as develop new products
  • Identify opportunities for new product development and improvements based on customer feedback
  • Manage project schedule from the initial sale through manufacturing
  • Modify designs based on cost and manufacturability
  • Plan and develop test plans on each product
  • Lead the efforts of the full product lifecycle ensuring timeline, cost, quality and safety standards are met
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant product development engineering experience (or a similar combination of experience).
  • Proficient in Inventor, Solidworks or Creo
  • Aluminum/Steel background preferred
  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal).
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
