Production Manager
SkyWater is partnering with an existing client in the North metro to find a Production Manager for their team! Our client is an industry leading manufacturer with a global presence and has been successfully operating for over 100 years. The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production operations while leading a team of 4 direct reports with about 60 indirect. This person will also be responsible for placing an emphasis on safety & quality across their teams, leading process improvement initiatives & looking for production efficiencies, working with plant leadership on department goals, and much more. We’re looking for an experienced manufacturing engineer, production manager, or operations manager with experience working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
- Oversee and grow team members. Set goals and hold employees accountable to achieve these goals.
- Manage production schedule and work with internal departments on any issues or corrective actions as needed.
- Create and maintain a culture that emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Find areas to create production efficiencies and look for cost-savings opportunities.
- Manage production department budget.
- Other projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a production, manufacturing or operations manager or supervisor role (or combination of roles).
- 3+ years of team leadership experience required.
- Strong communication skills (both written & verbal).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles highly preferred.
