Quality Manager

The Quality Manager will manage and lead efforts in assuring site and customer quality, manage quality complaints, lead the quality support team on quality related processes and improvements, and spearhead continuous improvement and lean six sigma projects aimed at improving quality performance of the plant.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reduce scrap rates, enhance product quality, and optimize production efficiency.
  • Oversee the Customer Complaint and CAPA programs, ensuring timely resolution and preventive action to improve customer satisfaction and product reliability.
  • Direct quality assurance operations, establishing and maintaining protocols that ensure all products meet specifications and statistical control standards.
  • Collaborate with Production and R&D teams to resolve quality issues and align new formulations with manufacturing capabilities.  ??
  • Manage the site’s ISO 9001:2015 certification and audit programs, ensuring compliance through effective internal and external audits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of quality and yield data, including Certificate of Analysis documentation, into the quality management system.
  • Lead, direct, and manage a team of 12 quality department staff including 9 technicians, a quality specialist, and 2 quality engineers.
  • Interview, hire, and develop your quality team in accordance with the core values of the organization

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of quality management and/or quality engineering experience, preferably in plastics, molding, chemicals, or a related technology
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience
  • Proven track record of identifying, scoping, and leading continuous improvement and lean six sigma projects
  • Proven experience reducing scrap percentages in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience managing and resolving customer quality complaints and CAPAs
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
