SkyWater is partnering with a local plastic manufacturing company that offers a wide variety of products, including custom mold designs.  With their innovative capabilities, they’re able to provide solutions for clients within the recreational, consumer packaging, medical device, and industrial industries, to name a few.

Their team is looking to add an experienced Sales Engineer on their medical device team that has a technical engineering background, understands the manufacturing space, and can work collaboratively on a team.  This person will be responsible for managing + growing key accounts , generating new business opportunities, and managing projects to meet customer expectations.

An ideal candidate for this position possesses a background in plastic manufacturing, has experience selling into medical device OEM’s. has a proven track record of meeting & exceeding revenue targets, and is has the technical acumen to work with other departments including design engineering, quality, operations, production, and customer service.


  • Manage and grow existing business relationships by providing exceptional customer service
  • Meet and exceed net-new individual sales targets based on the budgeted goals
  • Prospect, qualify, and conduct sales presentations to earn new business
  • Manage new & existing projects to ensure a successful project development process
  • Report, track and manage relevant sales activity and data in CRM
  • Accurately forecast business opportunities by sharing successes and market challenges
  • Ability to travel up to 30% - 40% of the time

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of consultative technical sales experience – preferably in custom plastic manufacturing
  • Experience working with the medical device industry or the packaging industry
  • Strong history of building customer relationships and driving new business opportunities
  • Active listener with strong verbal and written communication skills for presentations
  • Hunter mentality, ability to be professionally persistent, and able to handle rejection
