As they continue to expand our presence in the industry, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the accounting team and support the organizational growth.

he Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting to the Controller this position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical professional to contribute to the financial success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and variance analysis to support decision-making and provide insights to senior management.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to develop annual budgets and monitor performance against targets.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate annual audits, reviews, and tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and company policies, and identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, fostering their professional development and growth within the finance team.
  • Undertake special projects and ad-hoc analysis as assigned by senior management.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate environment or professional services firm.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP principles; experience with engineering or construction firms is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in financial data.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
